About Bill
Bill Mollison had been vitally concerned with the environment for over 40 years. His many roles included: scientist, naturalist and University professor. Later he became a vigorous campaigner against environmental exploitation which lead him to develop Permaculture as a positive solution.
Bill devoted his energies towards designing sustainable systems, writing books and articles on Permaculture, and most importantly teaching.

Tagari Publications flies under the umbrella of McAlistair Trading Trust, so named for a lone standing Scotsman, shaking his fist at the British army following a battle in the late 1700’s. Bill, taken by McAlistair’s courage, deemed him the role model for Bill’s publishing company.
Incorporated in 1981, Tagari Publications took its first steps in Stanley Tasmania, and marches hand in hand with the Permaculture Institute. Tagari publishes all Bill’s work. All profits from publishing support the work of the Permaculture Institute.
Presently Tagari Publications operates from Tagari Garden Farm in the incredible North West region of Tasmania Australia.
